Festival of Lights: All systems go

CAPE TOWN – The city of Cape Town says those attending the annual Festival of Lights on Sunday are in for a treat. The annual event which will take place at the mother city's Grand Parade on Sunday afternoon is over 40–years–old and is regarded as Cape Town's largest open–air free concert. The event also coincides with the start of the four week countdown to the city assuming the coveted title of world design capital 2014. Hugh Masekela, Jimmy Nevis and Micasa are just a few of the many popular local entertainers taking the stage. The city's Teral Cullen says it's all systems go. “We've been working the better part of the last six months planning for the event on Sunday and as things stand everything is going smoothly in preparation.”
