CAPE TOWN – Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu says he is uncertain who he will be voting for in the 2014 general elections. Tutu made the remark at the Jakes Gerwel memorial lecture at the University of the Western Cape on Sunday evening. In a solemn–worded address, Tutu questioned the humility of South Africans. He made reference to the rape of a 6–week–old baby in the Northern Cape and the greed of people who have put wealth over the delivery of basic services. Based on these issues, the Arch says he is uncertain who he will be voting for. “As you know, I don't have any political allegiances. I don't know who I am going to vote for in 2014. But I am afraid that we have too quickly sacrificed the power of unity that marked us as something special.” (Edited by Tamsin Wort)
