Cape Town - A neck injury has forced South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen to withdraw from the European Tour's Scottish Open on Thursday.
Oosthuizen took to Twitter to announce his withdrawal after not teeing for the first round.
"So frustrating to have to withdraw from . Neck hasn’t been right this week. On to ," said the 35-year-old.
The South African will now look to recover for next week's Open Championship at Carnoustie.
Oosthuizen has fond memories of the Claret Jug, after hoisting the coveted trophy at the 2010 Open Championship in St. Andrews where he won by seven shots.
Oosthuizen was South Africa's best golfer at last month's US Open at the controversial Shinnecock Hills Golf Course in New York - finishing tied for 16th.
