Provincial cricketer cleared to play after 'gun ban'

Cape Town - Provincial cricketer Qaasim Adams has been cleared to play club cricket while serving a ban for a gun-related incident that took place in November last year.

According to the clubcricket.co.za website, Adams will resume playing for United Cricket Club in the Western Province Cricket Association First Division A.

According to the report, Adams is serving a ban after reportedly pulling a gun on team-mate Givon Christian after Day 2 of the Provincial Challenge three-day match against SWD in Oudtshoorn on November 9, 2018.

Christian is believed to have reported the incident upon returning to Cape Town, but later decided against pressing charges.

Adams, who has represented both the Titans and Cape Cobras domestically, is set to miss three first-class and three List A matches for Western Province.

He will, however, be included in Saturday's United's XI for their clash against Kraaifontein Cricket Club.
