Cape Town - Disgraced Australian cricketer Steve Smith has confirmed that he will not appeal Cricket Australia's sanctions suspending him from international and Australian domestic cricket for the next 12 months.
The former Australian captain and team-mates Cameron Bancroft and David Warner were involved in a ball tampering controversy in the recent series against South Africa.
Warner was also banned for a year, while Bancroft received a nine-month suspension.
The duo are are yet to announce whether they will contest their charges.
This comes after the Australian cricketers' union said that the bans should be reduced as it was “disproportionate to previous ball-tampering cases”.
