One way is to pile on the blankets.
With the announcement by the South African Weather Services that Gauteng residents can expect a cold front from Monday, Budget Insurance has listed tips on how to keep one’s home warm economically.
This is after Budget Insurance said in a statement that in April, Eskom’s direct customers started paying 2.2% more for electricity, and in July, municipal customers would also have to take this hike into account.
According to Susan Steward, spokesperson for Budget Insurance: “Budget Insurance has put together a helpful list of tips on how to keep your home as warm as possible, while at the same time, cutting down on the amount of electricity used in doing so.”
Steward concluded: “By taking note of the follow simple suggestions, the winter blues will not be made worse by a hefty electricity bill come the end of the month.”
